Bunk Surfers Paradise is exclusively reserved for genuine international backpackers aged 18 to 35. Check-in is available from 2 pm onwards. If you arrive early, feel free to leave your luggage with us, and you’ll have access to our common area. All guests must provide a valid international passport and a credit card in the guest’s name during check-in for all room types. Please note that the nightly rate covers your stay from 2 pm to 10 am the following day, not a full 24-hour period.
Check-Out Times:
Check-out time is strictly at 10 am. Late fees of $25 apply for each 30-minute increment after this time. Late check-outs after 11:30 am will incur a penalty equal to a full night’s rate, however, this does not guarantee that the stay will be extended. Please remove dorm sheets from the bed and leave them in the designated corner within the room.
House Policy:
Bunk Surfers Paradise only welcomes genuine youth international backpackers aged 18 to 35. Failure to comply with these policies may result in refusal of entry and application of a cancellation fee. A valid credit card under the guest’s name is required at the time of booking to confirm and secure the reservation with the balance owing. Your card will be charged the first night’s payment within the cancellation period leading up to your stay. Please ensure there are sufficient funds on this card.
Schoolies Policy:
Please be aware that we do not accept schoolies bookings (16th November – 8th December 2024 and 22nd November – 14th December 2025), and the minimum age over the annual Schoolies weeks is 21.

The charge of the first night’s rate still applies to smaller groups once within the cancellation period. We enforce a 7-day cancellation policy for groups, and cancellations within this timeframe will result in a charge equivalent to one night’s accommodation.

Bookings and extensions must be paid in advance. Prices include GST and can be paid by credit card (Visa and Mastercard) with a 1.5% credit card fee. Amex payments incur a 1.8% credit card fee. All prices are quoted in AUD and all payments must be made in AUD. Private room bookings require a $100 bond at check-in, refundable after room cleaning. Note that private rooms are often reserved for group leaders.
Non-Refundable Bookings:
Non-refundable reservations are charged in full at the time of booking. No refunds or transfers are possible for these bookings. If payment is declined, the booking will be maintained at the normal rate with no discount applied.
Cancellations:
Cancellation terms vary based on the rate purchased. Bookings made through partners like Agoda, Booking.com, Expedia, HostelWorld, etc., need to be cancelled via the respective partner’s methods. We are not able to issue refunds on the partner’s behalf. Please refer to the terms and conditions of your booking provided by the booking partner.
No penalty is incurred if cancellations are received more than 72 hours before arrival. If a cancellation request is received within 72 hours (calculated from midnight), or if a booking is not taken up ie. a ‘no show’, then one night’s room charge will be applied. Once checked-in your reservation is non-refundable and there is no refund for early check-outs. Group bookings have a 7-day cancellation policy, and cancellations within this period result in a charge equivalent to one night’s accommodation.
