Bunk's Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Update – Friday 17th December, 2021

Hi Bunk Tribe

In line with the QLD government mandate, given that we have a bar and nightclub as part of our complex, from 17th December 2021 OR when QLD reaches 80% double vaccinated, all guests will be required to show proof of being double vaccinated. Failure to provide this evidence may result in you being unable to stay but still being charged as per our cancellation policy.

Update – Tuesday 17th March, 2020

Hi Bunk Tribe

The spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has created much uncertainty, which has been concerning for all of us.

The health, safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff have always been our number one priority. We are carefully monitoring the directions and advice of Queensland Health, the Australian Government Department of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO), and other relevant authorities.

In addition to the rigorous safety and sanitation measures already in place at Bunk Surfers Paradise, we have implemented comprehensive Coronavirus related protocols, which both disinfect and further limit opportunities for cross-contamination.

We also want to let you know that we are open for business! Our friendly reception team will be here to help you 24 hours a day.

There have, however, been some recent updates that we wanted to make you aware of. On Monday 16th March 2020, the Australian Federal Government imposed new restrictions stating that all new arrivals into Australia are required to enter a period of self-isolation for 14 days. As a result of this, the decision was made that we would not be able to accommodate people who have arrived from the 16th March 2020 onwards – during their 14-day isolation period. Please note that this includes private rooms.

This is not a decision that has been taken lightly, but Bunk Surfers Paradise is built for sharing and as a result we cannot both provide accommodation of a suitable level of comfort for those in self-isolation and fulfil our obligations to minimise the risk of exposure to other guests and staff.

In light of this recent update we have decided to waive all our usual cancellation policies for those affected by this self-isolation period. As the situation is constantly evolving, anyone coming into Australia can cancel on the day without risk of being charged.

If you are someone who is planning on flying in in the next few days, please contact our reception (view our contact page here) to update us on your circumstances and we will do our best to help.

We are continuously assessing the situation and will continue to update our guests and staff as things evolve. We feel assured in our preparedness and are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for our guests and staff.

Wherever you are in the world we hope you stay happy, safe and healthy and we look forward to welcoming you at Bunk Surfers Paradise soon.
